Records Division

The primary function of the Records Unit is: document retention, storage, destruction, and retrieval of both electronic and manual records. Other services include requests for open records materials, processing and approval of reports to include incident and accident reports, local records checks, fingerprinting, pet licensing, and monthly statistical reports. The Records Unit's hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Crash Reports (Accident Reports)

Motor vehicle crash reports written by the Stephenville Police Department are usually available 3-5 business days after the accident occurs.

The cost to purchase a crash report in person or by mail is $6, cash or check only.  Checks should be made payable to the City of Stephenville.

 

Local Records Check

The Request for Local Records Check form must be returned in person and a valid driver’s license or other official photo ID is required. There is a $5 charge per request. The request will take between 3-5 business days to process.

Pet Licensing

The City of Stephenville requires that all animals 4 months of age or older be licensed. To receive a license, the pet owner must provide a current rabies vaccination certificate and pay the required fee. Licenses are valid for one year from the date of issuance.

Pet Licensing fees are $5 for animals that have been spayed or neutered, and $20 for animals that have not been spayed or neutered.
