Sports Assistant- Part-Time

Reports to: Department Assitant

Department: Parks & Leisure 

Hourly Rate:  $9.00
 

JOB SUMMARY

 The City of Stephenville is seeking a sports assistant. This is a part-time position working under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor. This position is responsible supervising or score keeping youth and adult sporting events.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:  

•Supervising youth practices and youth and adult games

• Score keeping youth and adult games

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY

• Ability to establish a good working relationship with the public, subordinates, and supervisors

• Ability to maintain self-control and composure and set a professional example for the staff and participants

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must pass a background investigation and drug test

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Ability to withstand all weather conditions. Majority of games are held outdoors

Ability to assist respective sports equipment

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
