PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS THE ERATH COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION ACTION PLAN

July 22, 2019– A public meeting to discuss the Erath County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HazMAP) is scheduled for Thursday, July 25 at 12:30PM in the Texas Health Resources Hospital Conference Room located at 441 N. Belknap, Stephenville, TX 76401.

The participating jurisdictions in Erath County are updating the current multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HazMAP) in order to create a more resilient and safer community for residents, businesses, and visitors. As natural hazards are becoming more frequent and damages more costly, mitigation actions are key to keeping the community safe. We are requesting citizen involvement in the update of the Erath County HazMAP. By completing and updating the HazMAP, participating jurisdictions are entitled to apply for future federal relief dollars to fund specific mitigation projects, designed to reduce and/or eliminate vulnerabilities resulting from disaster events throughout the County.

During the meeting, the public is invited to make comments or suggestions. Local emergency management officials will be on hand to answer any questions. All comments received from the public will be documented and considered for inclusion in the HazMAP.

This HazMAP is being completed through a cooperative effort of officials from Erath County and the cities of Dublin and Stephenville.

If you have questions, please contact your local Office of Emergency Management.
