Boy Scouts Raise Over $10,000 at Mayor’s Breakfast

First Annual Event Great Success for a Great Cause

May 22, 2018, Stephenville, Texas – Over $10,000 was raised last week for local Boy Scouts at the first annual Mayor’s Breakfast for Boys Scouts. The event raised funds for the Old Comanche Trail District of the Texas Trails Council, BSA in Stephenville.  Doug Svien and Dwain Bruner were Co-Chairs of the event.

“We are pleased with the turn out, as well as the generous response from our community,” said Doug Svien, newly elected Mayor of Stephenville. “What a wonderful way to kick off this annual event.”

Over 100 community members attended the breakfast and heard BSA updates from District Scout Executive, George Niebling and District Chair, Larry Smith.

The Texas Trails Council is a non-profit, community-based, youth-serving organization providing service to 17.5 counties in West Central Texas. The council provides programs in each community for boys in the first grade through age 20, and co-ed youth through various Scouting Programs.
