There are several construction projects in various stages of completion in the City of Stephenville. Please see the list below of some current and upcoming Public Works projects to find out where work could be happening in your area.

The links in the project descriptions below provide maps with highlighted work areas. Note: Some maps are not exact and are for general location purposes only. Further information is located in the actual contract specifications.

2020 Community Development Block Grant – Downtown Revitalization Project –  The City of Stephenville was awarded a contract from Texas Department of Agriculture on March 3, 2019. Through planning and coordination with TDA, the city opened bids in June 2020 and accepted construction bids on August 4, 2020. Pre construction meeting was held on October 13, 2020 and sidewalk construction should be underway on Washington from Graham to Devine.

2019 – Professional Engineering Services for Stephenville Type IV Landfill Master Plan, Cell Construction and Permitting – The City of Stephenville awarded the Professional Engineering firm SCS Engineers, Inc. with resources, experience and expertise in the timely delivery of solid waste related professional services for landfill master planning, construction of two permitted Type IV landfill cells and TCEQ permitting assistance. Engineering firms with extensive experience in landfill cell design and construction as well as TCEQ permitting are invited to respond to this request for qualifications (RFQ). 2019 Texas General Land Office – Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery Fund Project – The City of Stephenville has been awarded the project by the Texas GLO on February 13, 2019 and is currently in the planning phase for improvements to the Groesbeck Neighborhood Drainage System. Grant Administration Services, Public Management, and Professional Engineering Services, KSA Engineering, were selected through the required professional services selection processes prior to the application process in March and April 2018. Once the project scope has been put in place, we will post further information about the project here.

2018-19 Water Well Field Development Project – The City of Stephenville has awarded the Professional Engineering contract agreement with Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc. of Lubbock, Texas with the approval of City Council on September 4, 2018 for the project described here and the map showing the project location.

2018-19 Master Utility Infrastructure Management Plan – The City of Stephenville has awarded Professional Engineering contract agreement for a Master Utility Infrastructure Management Plan to Freese and Nichols of Fort Worth, Texas with the approval of the City Council on September 4, 2018 for the project described here.

2018 Professional Engineering Services – Various Storm Drainage Improvement Projects (Projects) and Utility and Pavement Engineer of Record. The Stephenville city council met on May 1, 2018 and approved the services agreement for Freese and Nichols for the Spring Bouquet Drainage Study.

Completed Projects:

2019 – CDBG Water Line Improvement Project – Lennox / Dodge
B & L Construction of Hico, Texas, began construction on January 7, 2020 and concluded in May 2020. The engineer overseeing the project is Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Clint Bissett, P.E. at 972-235-3031, located at the 118 N. Ohio St., Celina, Texas 75009.

2019 – Street Maintenance Projects – Chip Seal and Resurfacing – Bids were opened and publicly announced at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019. The City of Stephenville awarded the Chip Seal and Resurfacing projects to Jay Mills Contracting of Stephenville, Texas on two separate bids.

2019 – Street Maintenance Project – Micro-surfacing – Bids were opened and publicly announced at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019. The City of Stephenville awarded the micro-surfacing project to Intermountain Slurry Seal of North Salt Lake, UT.

2018 – 750,000 Gallon Steel Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation- Bids were open and read publicly at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 16, 2018. After review of bids, information was presented to council September 4, 2018; project was awarded to N.G. Painting of Kerrville, Texas, working with the Engineer at Tank Industry Consultants

2018 Professional Engineering Services – The City of Stephenville is under contract with a firm to provide Professional Engineering Services for a 750,000 Gallon Garfield Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project based on the evaluation completed on February 9, 2015.  For the photos of the report, Group 1-20, Group 21-40, Group 41-60, Group 61-80. The Stephenville city council met on May 1, 2018 and approved the services agreement for Tank Industries Consultants and Heart of Texas Inspection Services.

2018 – 10-Inch Domestic Water Meters – The City of Stephenville has awarded the installation of 10-Inch Domestic Water Meters to B & L Construction of Hico, Texas on December 4, 2018. The two meters will be installed at W. Shirley Street and N. Rome Avenue, and W. Tarleton and N. Saint Peter Avenue.

2018 Street Maintenance – Chip Seal Project – bids were opened on November 29, 2017, and was awarded by the city council to Jay Mills Contracting at the December 5, 2017 council meeting. Please see the attached map and street listing for the current project.

2018 Micro-Surfacing Program –  Intermountain Slurry Seal completed work and council accepted June 12, 2018 Resolution No. 2018-R-09. Please see the attached Street Listing & Map for current project information.
