There are several construction projects in various stages of completion in the City of Stephenville. Please see the list below of some current and upcoming Public Works projects to find out where work could be happening in your area.

The links in the project descriptions below provide maps with highlighted work areas. Note: Some maps are not exact and are for general location purposes only. Further information is located in the actual contract specifications.

The City of Stephenville is always conscious and extremely appreciative of the respondent’s efforts and time investment in the preparation of submittal information. The City received Qualification Statements at Stephenville City Hall. Information related to solicitations, including any addenda’s, will be available as the projects are posted.

Current Projects:

Water Well Field Development Project – The City of Stephenville has awarded the Professional Engineering contract agreement with Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc. of Lubbock, Texas with the approval of City Council on September 4, 2018 for the project described here and the map showing the project location. 

Master Utility Infrastructure Management Plan – The City of Stephenville has awarded Professional Engineering contract agreement for a Master Utility Infrastructure Management Plan to Freese and Nichols of Fort Worth, Texas with the approval of the City Council on September 4, 2018 for the project described here.

750,000 Gallon Steel Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation– The City of Stephenville has accepted bids for the 750,000 Gallon Steel Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project in Stephenville, Texas: The complete cleaning and repainting of the tank on the interior surfaces, and the complete cleaning and repainting of the exterior surfaces with containment. Additional Work items include: repair of concrete; installation of GFCI electrical receptacle in valve vault, new insulation and jacket for west outlet pipe, exterior shell ladder, ladder safe-climbing device, vandal deterrent, roof safety railings, shell manhole davits, and clog-resistant roof vent; including other miscellaneous repairs and incidental items within the City of Stephenville. Work will be scheduled to begin this winter. Bids were open and read publicly at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 16, 2018. After review of bids, information was presented to council September 4, 2018, project was awarded to NG Painting of Kerrville, Texas, working with the Engineer at Tank Industry Consultants. Construction will begin soon.

2018 Street Maintenance – Chip Seal Project – bids were opened on November 29, 2017, and was awarded by the city council to Jay Mills Contracting at the December 5, 2017 council meeting. Work will begin in the early spring of 2018. Please see the attached map and street listing for the current project.

2018 Professional Engineering Services – The City of Stephenville is under contract with a firm to provide Professional Engineering Services for a 750,000 Gallon Garfield Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project based on the evaluation completed on February 9, 2015.  For the photos of the report, Group 1-20, Group 21-40, Group 41-60, Group 61-80. The Stephenville city council met on May 1, 2018 and approved the services agreement for Tank Industries Consultants and Heart of Texas Inspection Services.

2018 Professional Engineering Services – Various Storm Drainage Improvement Projects (Projects) and Utility and Pavement Engineer of Record. The Stephenville city council met on May 1, 2018 and approved the services agreement for Freese and Nichols for the Spring Bouquet Drainage Study.

Completed Projects:

2018 Micro-Surfacing Program –   Intermountain Slurry Seal completed work and council accepted June 12, 2018 Resolution No. 2018-R-09. Please see the attached Street Listing & Map for current project information.

2017/18 Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) – As of the January 3, 2017, Administrative/Professional Services for the RFQ have been awarded to Public Management, Inc.  The Engineering Services for the RFQ have been awarded to Pacheco Koch, LLC. The advertisement was posted online and also in the Empire Tribune on November 22, 2016. If you need further information, please call Sara Tankersley at 254-918-1292.  The project was completed $25,974.51 or approximately 5.1% under budgeted construction costs and was accepted by the city council at the December 5, 2017 council meeting.

2017 Long Street Low Water Crossing Repair Project – Cruz Hernandez Construction – performed the removal and replacement of concrete, asphalt riprap, installation of supporting embankment and reinforced concrete riprap for the Long Street Low Water Crossing Repair Project (Location Map)within the City of Stephenville.

2017 W. Frey Street and Ollie Avenue – Utility work completed to correct  Please see Customer Notification form and map.

2017 Long Street Low Water Crossing Repair Project – Cruz Hernandez Construction – for removal and replacement of concrete, asphalt riprap, install supporting embankment and install reinforced concrete riprap for the Long Street Low Water Crossing Repair Project (Location Map) within the City of Stephenville.

2016-17 Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) Water Line Improvement Project – as of December 5, 2017 – Council accepted the  project completed by B & L Construction along West Elm Street between North Ollie and Clinton Avenue and along West Oak Street between North Ollie Street and North Race Street (location map) within the City of Stephenville. As of November 4, 2016 awarded to Public Management (Administrative) and Pacheco Koch, LLC (Engineering). Exhibit A – Performance Statement, Exhibit B – Project Budget.

2017 – Concrete Curb and Gutter repair work is taking place on Ben Hogan Drive, Prairie Wind, Midnight Shadow, Glenwood and at a Bosque River Trail head parking area on Graham Street.

2017 Pavement Maintenance – Micro-Surfacing Project – as of May 2, 2017 – Viking Construction, Inc. – micro-surface paving various streets (location map) within the City of Stephenville.

2017 Pavement Maintenance – Chip Seal Project – as of May 2, 2017 – Rose Contracting Company –  The chip seal application of emulsified asphalt, cover coat aggregate and fog seal to various streets (location map) within the City of Stephenville.
