Tarleton State University

Founded in 1899 as John Tarleton College, Tarleton became a part of the Texas A & M University System in 1917 and gained official status as a university in 1973.  Tarleton State University provides quality programs of undergraduate, graduate, and non-traditional education.  The student body includes representatives from 220 counties, 45 states, and 34 foreign countries.  Tarleton’s enrollment is excess of 10,000 students.  The Tarleton core curriculum provides a solid Liberal Arts foundation for all students.  Tarleton offers 67 undergraduate and 22 graduate programs as well as a doctorate program in Education Administration.  Degree areas include Agriculture, Business Administration, Teacher Education, Allied Health, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Physical and Biological Sciences, Humanities, Mathematics and Technology.

Stephenville Independent School District

Stephenville Independent School District has an enrollment of over 3,550 students. There are three elementary schools for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade, and an intermediate school for grades 5 and 6. Junior High includes 7th and 8th; High School 9th through 12th grade. Stephenville High School is home to 3A Football State Champions, the Stephenville Yellow Jackets.
